All our staff are highly qualified in teaching swimming, hold up to date Life Saving qualifications, attend regular seminars and updates, and are all DBS checked.

Theresa has been teaching swimming since 1980, initially as instructor and lesson co-ordinator for local councils and also the County Instructor for 20 local schools for many years before opening Suffolk Swimming Swim School in 1993. Theresa has taught thousands of babies, children and adults over the years and still loves it!
Brenda Lawes

Brenda has also been teaching alongside Theresa for 35 years. A keen daily swimmer herself, Brenda teaches stroke technique to perfection.
Tony McGlone
Tony McGloneTeacher and Lifesaving trainer
Tony has been with the swim school for 22 years and specialises in teaching snorkelling and also Lifesaving right up to pool lifeguard level. Tony also trains all our staff to high level of Lifesaving and water safety.
Jo Palmer
Jo PalmerTeacher and admin assistant
Jo started swimming as a pupil with us from the age of 3 and continued throughout her childhood until she became a teacher herself! Jo teaches pre-schoolers, beginners and improvers with great sensitivity and empathy. She also helps coach the synchro team and is our very talented choreographer of synchronised swimming routines.
Dawn Foskett

Since bringing her own children to the Suffolk Swimming, Dawn developed an interest in becoming a teacher herself. Dawn has now been with us for 15 years and with her calm and patient manner is perfect for teaching 3-5 year olds.
Alice Sim

Alice’s involvement with the swim school started when bringing her first baby to our Parent and Child classes. Alice soon discovered the wonderful combination of babies and water and is now teaching several fun and lively baby classes a week.
Tash Swanton

A keen open water swimmer herself, Tash also became interested in becoming a swimming teacher after bringing her own children to our parent and baby classes and now teaches babies and pre-schoolers with a loving and caring approach.
Sharon Johnson

Sharon has had an involvement with the Swim School for more than 20 years. She is passionate about producing confident, secure, happy swimmers and with her Mum Brenda, also a teacher here, they make a great team teaching beginners and improvers
